KARL LANDSTEINER
1868 – 1943
The discoverer of blood groups , the hematologist KARL LANDSTEINER ,was the recipient of the Nobel Prize in Medicine in 1930. The last twenty years of his career were spent at the Rockefeller Institute in New York City.
The banknote with his portait was the last issued in Austria before the advent of the European Union
